West End Fair

The West End fair opened on Saturday and I'm sharing an arch there with some other artists.

The space looks really cool and things have been going pretty well so far. If you're based in Edinburgh or up visiting for the Festival please come by and see us.

The Fair is located at St. John's church, where Lothian Rd meets Princes St.

Stars of Sunday League

Last week I took greentees to London for the Stars of Sunday League EP launch and met some really cool people. It was a great night and I'm over the moon for everyone involved.

New sites

So I was lucky enough to have two new websites deigned for me so please check them (and my girlfriend's mad web skills) out:

The first is my portfolio site (please pass this on to anyone you know who might care)

http://www.neilmperry.com

The second is a re-vamp of greentees which I think looks much, much better.

pink pandas

There's something sweet, yet disturbing, about this image.....it's the first of a set along a similar theme which I'll be selling (some originals/some prints) at the Luminaire in London on 3rd of August.

The event is the Stars of Sunday League EP launch. I was fortunate enough to be able to contribute my art to the EP and it should be a great night.

Portraits

Here are a couple of portraits of a few amazing artists, I'm new to this stuff but pretty happy with them.

Tuesday 30 June 2009

Rabbit Skull

A new design I've been working on and intend to print very big on some tee shirts. It wouldn't be summer without a skull of rabbits.

Wednesday 24 June 2009

Leopard

I've been working on this design for the St. Andrews Trust. They do a lot of charity work in Malawi and they've asked me to come up with a tee shirt design which they could sell to help raise some money to fund their good deeds. There'll be more on this as is progresses.

Monday 8 June 2009

Wales/Scotland

An illustration I've been working on for a magazine. The article has a Welsh/Scottish theme and this is my representation of those two nations in heraldic style.

Joan of Arc, Sunderland....poster!

I designed and printed this poster for the upcoming Joan of Arc show in Sunderland. I'm really excited that they're going to be playing in Sunderland.....far too few bands play there.

I'll be selling these at the gig for those who might be interested, and online afterwards for anyone who can't make it.

Story Motel Opening

Here are some photos from the Story Motel opening, which was ace!

There were some incredible zines on show and, if you like that sort of thing, you can buy them at the following link:

http://www.storymotel.bigcartel.com/

These zines have been produced specifically for the exhibition and are not available anywhere else, so here is a gentle shove in the direction of my zine!

http://www.storymotel.bigcartel.com/product/neil-perry-untitled

It was illustrated, screen printed and then watercoloured (so each is a little unique) by my own hands. Copies are limited to an edition of 25.

Story Motel

I made a zine for an exhibition for the Owl and Lion gallery which opened last night. The exhibition consists of 50+ zines by different artists from all over the world. Here are some photographs of my zine, i'll put some shots from the opening up later.

The show runs until 10th June so if you're in Edinburgh please wander down to the Grassmarket to take a look.

Another Owl and Lion tee..

Check Spelling

Another of the tees I'm printing for Owl and Lion gallery in Edinburgh.

This one came out looking great in petrol blue on the grey.

Placid Flamingo

My good friend Steve is in the process of setting up a band tour/promotion company called Placid Flamingo and he asked me to come up with a couple of logos for him.

Wednesday 29 April 2009

Owl and Lion Gallery

I've been printing tees today for the Owl and Lion Gallery in Edinburgh. Here are the first two in a series of five.

Monday 27 April 2009

What price, Wonderland?

Because there just aren't enough Russian Dissident Bears in art these days...this is the start of my one man crusade to right a terrible wrong.

Poster for a gig in Edinburgh. What Price, Wonderland?, Citizens and Lords of Bastard at Sneaky Pete's.

I've just finished the design and will be printing it soon.

Tuesday 21 April 2009

Owl and Lion

I have been asked to do 5 designs for Owl and Lion gallery in the Grassmarket, Edinburgh. I'm really excited about it and here are the first two I have finished.....typically, and Owl and a Lion.

I'll be making tees, bags and cards of these.

Bear Chief

Another work-in-progress (there's a lot of those at the moment and not enough getting finished!) which I am pretty pleased with.

He might end up in the book I've been mentioning every 5 minutes but also on tees/bags/etc.....any ideas, drop me an e-mail to neil@greenteesapparel.co.uk

Percolator Magazine

Another work-in-progress, this time it's a logo commission for Percolator Magazine.

Owleo

Here's a work in progress pic of a potential new tee design.

I'm hoping to get a few tees printed and up on the greentees site very soon, other work has been a bit hectic recently (which is good, obviously).

A couple more updates to follow later today.

Sunday 5 April 2009

Jonah Matranga- Glasgow Poster.

I printed these posters for Jonah Matranga's gig in Glasgow last night. The show was incredible.

Wolves.

My friend Rowan and I are putting a book together and these illustrations are probably going to be a part of it.

Jonah Matranga

I've been printing merch for the upcoming Jonah Matranga UK tour. I printed two designs: one on ethically produced tees and the other on 3 different coloured ethically produced/environmentally friendly tote bags.

Skeletree (two)

I've made a little more progress by adding colour to this. It's really just a matter of getting an idea of what I'm going to do with it. It'll probably end up on some form of clothing or other and maybe as posters.

Sparra'

This started as a work for an ep cover I'm in the process of designing but it looks like it won't be getting used in that project.

I like it though...this style is helping me experiment with subtle colour and I'm hoping gives a new dimension to the 'types' of work I can do.

From the minds and mouths of the young....

I was asked to do this as a comission out of the blue a couple of years ago. The initial idea is really a lot sweeter than the blasphemous art-work might suggest.

I stumbled upon this terrible photograph and thought i'd share...

Tuesday 17 February 2009

skeletree

Work in progress, I've had this image in my mind for a while now and I have finally got around to drawing it. I'll be adding some colour here and there and it'll probably wind up on my next set of tees along with a few others in a similar vein.

Saturday 14 February 2009

darwin's despair.

This is a competition prize from a show I did with Edinburgh Uni Radio Station, Fresh Air, back in December. Better late than never I suppose.

Wednesday 21 January 2009

Sunday 18 January 2009

The Armada

A little more progress on this one, i will be printing it this week with some colour thrown in.

Tuesday 13 January 2009

edinburgh

I was asked recently to draw something edinburgh related for a potential business venture.

I started working on this and I'm really happy with how it turned out, I'll find another use for it if the initial idea does not come off.
